PuttKeep: Course Scorecard Termsputtkeep.com
What it is
A scorecard for your course that runs in the phone’s web browser. Players scan a QR code, no app download, no account.
Price
$9 a month per course, plus any sales tax that applies. Billed monthly by Square invoice, paid automatically from the card you keep on file with Square.
What’s included
- Setup and branding: your course name, logo, colors, hole count and pars.
- Hosting at your own link on our domain.
- A print-ready QR PDF pack (hole-1 sign plus a small QR for your scorecards).
- Changes when you need them: hole, par and branding edits are included, within reason. We usually make changes within 7 days.
- A free seasonal pause of up to 6 months in any 12-month period (see “Seasonal pause”).
Free trial
Your free 30-day trial starts the day we send you your working link. No card needed, and we charge nothing during the trial. About 3 days before it ends, we email you a reminder with the price and how to keep your scorecard.
To keep it, reply to that email or use the form at puttkeep.com/courses/ and confirm these terms. We then set up your monthly Square invoice. Nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends: your first charge is the day after the trial ends, and only if you’ve told us to keep it (if you tell us later, it’s the day your invoice starts). If you don’t, the trial simply ends. On day 30 your scorecard shows a friendly “taking a break” message and your account closes. You owe nothing. We never charge you unless you tell us to keep it and pay your first invoice.
YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS AUTOMATICALLY EVERY MONTH UNTIL YOU CANCEL
When your subscription starts, we set up a monthly Square invoice for $9 (plus any sales tax). You pay the first one online by card and keep the card on file with Square. After that, Square charges that card automatically on the same date each month. We never see your card number.
Cancel anytime
Cancel anytime by email or the contact form; we stop billing within 1 business day. Email [email protected] or use the form at puttkeep.com/courses/ and say “cancel”.Use the form at puttkeep.com/courses/ (or reply to any of our emails) and say “cancel”.
We confirm by email. Canceling stops all future charges. Your scorecard keeps working until the end of the month you’ve already paid for, then your account closes. No fees, no phone call, no questions required.
If a payment fails
If a monthly charge doesn’t go through, Square automatically emails you a new invoice so you can pay it or enter a new card, and we email you once too. Your scorecard keeps working for 7 days. If it’s still unpaid after 7 days, we cancel your subscription and close your account: your scorecard shows the friendly “taking a break” message, and we forgive the unpaid charge, so you won’t owe it. No collections. Pay any time before then and your scorecard keeps working.
Seasonal pause
Closed for the season? You can pause for free, for up to 6 months in any 12-month period. Tell us by email or the contact form when to pause and when to restart. We pause your monthly invoices by hand. A pause starts at the end of the month you’ve already paid for. Nothing is charged while you’re paused, your scorecard shows the friendly “taking a break” message, and your setup stays put.
Billing restarts on the restart date you gave us, or sooner if you tell us you’ve reopened, on the same monthly schedule from then. We email you at least 7 days before billing restarts. If you reach 6 months of pause in any 12-month period, we email you again 1 day before billing restarts.
When your account closes
Your account closes when your trial ends without a subscription, when a cancellation takes effect, or after an unpaid charge as described above. We then keep your course setup (logo, colors, pars) for 12 months so you can come back without starting over, and delete it after that. Ask us any time and we’ll delete it sooner, usually within 7 days. We keep billing records as long as tax law requires. Players’ saved games stay on their own phones.
Refunds
We don’t refund partial months. Canceling stops future charges. Exceptions:
- First payment. Not happy? Email us ([email protected]) or use the contact form within 14 days of your first charge and we’ll refund it in full and close your account.
- Price increase. If you’re charged a new, higher price and you cancel within 14 days of that charge, we refund the unused part of that month.
- Our mistakes. We refund any charge made in error, such as a charge after you canceled.
- If we stop the service. We refund any time you’ve paid for but can’t use (see “If we ever stop”).
Refunds go back through Square to the card you paid with. Printed signs are made to order. If one arrives damaged or wrong, we replace it.
Price changes
We may change the monthly price. If we do, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, with the new price, the date it starts and how to cancel. If you don’t want the new price, cancel before that date and you’ll never pay it.
If we ever stop
We intend to keep PuttKeep running for the long term. If we ever decide to stop, we will:
- email you at least 60 days ahead;
- stop charging you, and refund any time you paid for after the shutdown date; and
- send you a free copy of your scorecard files that you can host yourself.
That is the full extent of our hosting commitment. Short outages caused by our hosting provider, the internet or players’ phones are not a breach.
Printing QR codes on your cards? Use your own free subdomain (like scores.yourcourse.com). Then printed codes keep working even if hosting ever moves.
Optional extras
These are one-time charges. Nothing renews or charges you automatically except your monthly subscription.
- Your own web address: free. A subdomain on your existing domain (like scores.yourcourse.com). You just add one DNS record we send you.
- Printed signs: at cost (what printing and shipping cost us), plus any sales tax.
Privacy
Players don’t make accounts. Names and scores stay on their phone, and we never receive them. Course owners: we use your contact details only to talk with you about your scorecard. Full policy: puttkeep.com/privacy/
Your name, logo and content
You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, the course name, logo, colors and any sponsor or promo text you send us. You let us use them only to build, host and print your scorecard and signs. We won’t list you as a customer or show your logo in our marketing unless you say yes in writing. You’re responsible for your sponsor text. We may decline content that we think is unlawful or that we’re not comfortable hosting.
Players and safety
The putting challenges are optional and just for fun. You can turn them off at any time. You run your course and set its rules.
No warranty
THE SCORECARD, HOSTING AND SIGNS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” EXCEPT FOR THE HOSTING COMMITMENT AND THE REFUNDS DESCRIBED ABOVE, WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We don’t promise that it will be error-free, work on every phone, or never go down. Hosting providers, browsers and phones are outside our control.
Limit of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (1) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO PUTTKEEP IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM; AND (2) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, REPRINTING COSTS, OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. This doesn’t limit liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything else the law doesn’t let us limit.
Ending
You can cancel anytime (see “Cancel anytime”). We may close your account after emailing you if a payment fails (see “If a payment fails”), or if your content breaks the law or these terms. The sections on content, warranty, liability and law still apply after your account closes.
Law and disputes
New York law governs these terms. If something goes wrong, email us ([email protected]) or use the contact form first and give us 30 days to fix it. If we can’t settle it, either of us can use small claims court, or the state or federal courts in New York County, New York.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change affects price, billing, canceling or refunds, we’ll email you at least 30 days ahead, and it applies from your next billing date after that. If you don’t agree, cancel before then. If you paid the one-time $149 under version 1 of these terms, version 1 still applies to what you bought.
Whole agreement
These terms, your signup, your “keep my scorecard” confirmation and your Square invoices and receipts are the whole agreement between us.
